Well, I was considering of how to cool off GPU with small budget. This is one of the possibility! All my current rigs have warranty and if I take out the OEM cooler, that will void the warranty. So, I tried with my personal PC. This will significantly reduce the noise and temperature as the cooler surface area is multiple times larger than the OEM cooler and the fan is huge!
I looked around my options. There used to a person who made customized CPU-GPU conversion bracket but he is out of business. =/
So, I made with a few pieces of sticks and screws.
Parts list
1. GPU
2. Cooler Master Hyper T4
3. Mini heat sinks (14 x 14 mm)
4. Thermal paste
5. Thermal conductive glue
6. Pieces of wood (corner moldings from Home depot)
7. Screws (bolt and nuts) from Radio Shack
I probably am one of the thousands or even millions who applied to Mt.Gox and took forever for them to verify the account for any exchanges. I had submitted back in later Nov and got approved sometime in the middle of Dec but that notification didn’t come through until mid Jan. Meanwhile, I made BTC-e for exchange. Now, I say that I am glad that I didn’t deal with Mt.Gox.
Why Mt. Gox, the World’s First Bitcoin Exchange, is Dying
As the article, I still have strong belief that these cryptocoins still have bright future. Fall of Mt.Gox is significant yet it’s nothing much different from a hick-up from far point of view. As BTC-e being the 2nd leader of the market, there will be improvements with better security and safer transactions.
I will have doubt that neither BTC nor LTC will be replacing the current currencies. However, for the short comings, these coins are still in bright side for being the first world wide digital currencies.
Introducing the UltraCoin Cryptocurrency Composite Index
Um! Maybe I am right on the choice of cryptocurrency: litecoin. According to the graph, litecoin has much potential income over bitcoin. Yes, volatility is higher too and so was the bitcoin. Future looks “brighter” than before. =]

Quite of interesting research done on the bitcoin. =]
Overstock started to accept bitcoin back in late Dec. Now, they are announcing over million dollar worth of bitcoins. It sounds to me that other vendors would be attracted to this. Yet, price of bitcoin hasn’t increased much. I think it’s probably due to the IRS issue. IRS knows that there are tons of taxes to be collected as soon as cryptocurrencies are under regulation. Well, according to the 16th amendment, that is, if I understood correct, investment income is taxable. So, from the congress point of view, all they need to do is just set a few laws that coordinates to the cryptocurrencies and require income tax for any earnings. Now, hardest part is the tracking incomes from all the anonymous transactions. hum…
Better part among all this is that Overstock is considering about accepting altcoins if they can be received “risk-free”. Sounds like litecoin to me!

BTC China Accepting Bank Deposits Again
Well well well, is this the reaction to the Department of Financial Services public hearing?
“Previously, we judged doing this as not being viable, however, we have since changed our stance. We looked again at the guidance issued in December and we think it’s a reasonable for us to accept customer deposits via our corporate bank account,” said Lee.
“The fact the PBOC said exchanges need to register with MIIT essentially means it recognises exchanges as a business category and BTC China as a legitimate business.”
Um~ Do I smell hype?
Is it just me? Why do I feel that today’s discussion is more like educational session?
I thought they suppose already know the basics or even more thorough knowledge about cryptocurrency ahead and make questions. Not gain knowledge on the chair and make questions… -_-;;
