I hope you have a connection to Korean banking system!! Or at least, any Asian banking system for that matter.

I probably am one of the thousands or even millions who applied to Mt.Gox and took forever for them to verify the account for any exchanges. I had submitted back in later Nov and got approved sometime in the middle of Dec but that notification didn’t come through until mid Jan. Meanwhile, I made BTC-e for exchange. Now, I say that I am glad that I didn’t deal with Mt.Gox.
Why Mt. Gox, the World’s First Bitcoin Exchange, is Dying
As the article, I still have strong belief that these cryptocoins still have bright future. Fall of Mt.Gox is significant yet it’s nothing much different from a hick-up from far point of view. As BTC-e being the 2nd leader of the market, there will be improvements with better security and safer transactions.
I will have doubt that neither BTC nor LTC will be replacing the current currencies. However, for the short comings, these coins are still in bright side for being the first world wide digital currencies.
Litecoin Difficulty: 3,998
Estimated Next Difficulty: 3,215 (-19.59%)
Adjust time: After 344 Blocks, About 19.4 hours
Hashrate(?): 73,372 MH/s
As hashrate of LTC continues to drop, difficult is expecting further drop. I am seeing movements of other cryptocurrencies increasing. As I mentioned before, dogecoin, lottocoin and even worldcoin is gaining hashrate by minutes. Just dogecoin itself, it has increased 3x in last a few days. Lottocoin also tripled.
Withdrawals (22/01/2014)
We have just been notifyed that LTC addresses are now blank on accounts and all coins have been withdrawn out of some pool accounts. We are currently investigating this issue and are trackign what has happened. Once this is done we will rectify the situation. We please ask that you send us any info that you may have to aid is in the investigation. Payments have been suspended until we can clarafy.
I just noticed LTC difficulty will drop about 13%, which hasn’t happened since last year Sep. No significant change of price or anything much at all but… just found out that give-me-coins got robbed! Wow… this is going to be problem with all LTC pools now. To be honest, give-me-coins pool is gone in my opinion. They will be lucky if they don’t get sued for all the lost LTCs. Hope they come up with solutions. Whoever did it, genius. -_-d
Not that they did good thing but it’s something admirable for doing something very complicated.
I guess the pool owner must had his/her hands shaking when the notice was typed. There are bunch of typos on the notification.

Earlier today when I was trading BTC to LTC, a few hours later LTC/BTC ratio actually dropped much lower. 0.02800!!! Price of LTC didn’t move much yet BTC increased a bit. I didn’t care much about it but this incident might cause future value of the LTC.
On top of the dogecoin and such other cryptocurrencies have increased their value. More than 100x!!!
Of course, it’s definitely bubble. I wouldn’t be surprised if some rich BTC holder used part of BTC asset to play around this. Probably this is another reason why LTC difficulty will drop. Yet… real possible reason is still the issue with give-me-coins pool. There suppose to be transaction records but this incident has no transaction record left. Hum… this is going to drive the price of LTC further down. Security issue rises again.
Interesting part is that… give-me-coins also has BTC pool. How come that wasn’t touched? Only LTC? hum….
This is only for the rigs under Windows setting. Sorry for Linux. =p
2 things you can do.
1. Right click on the desktop -> Screen resolution -> Change resolution to lowest possible (800 x 600)
2. In the same window, click on Advanced settings -> Monitor tab -> under Colors change the setting to High color 16 bit
Apply the settings and let the rig to run a few mins. You will see little higher than average hash rate.
My #1 rig with 3 of 290x’s average increased from 2.025 MH/s to 2.112 MH/s!
My #2 rig with 3 of XFX 7950’s average increased from 1.552 MH/s to 1.601 MH/s!
Well, I just finished #2 a few days ago.
Actually, it was running since couple weeks ago. It just wasn’t in presentable condition to post up since I didn’t have enough PCIE cables to complete. Build almost exactly the same as #1 but I made a few changes for better cooling. Still running bit hotter than I anticipated but I think it’s inevitable for XFX models.
I did purchase GPUs for #3 but I have decided not to do. With current price of LTC and difficulty, I don’t think it’s worth it. Will see how it goes in next a few weeks and decide #3 will happen or not.
Cooling experiment will begin in early Feb or mid Feb. Stay tuned. All the necessary items are purchased. I just don’t have time to do it at the moment. =p
Happy mining!
This is the major reason (China’s Answer to eBay Bans Sale of Bitcoins and Mining Gear) why cryptocurrencies should increase in their value slowly. Too quick of increase in value will bring more hate and regulation from major streams than acceptance. No government officials in any country would like their currency to be under valued against no name, no origin and no physical currencies.
Yet, with such news, value didn’t come down too far. hum…
Yeah… I couldn’t let this deal pass by.
Sapphire Radeon 7950 Vapor-X for $330? No one can say no to that! I actually was lucky on this one. I think it was because of seller’s description.
Pulled from my rig for an upgrade; decided to go for a 290X. Has no Fan Wine. SOLD AS IS
I actually understood as if the card “has no fan and sold as is.” Of course no one will bid. So, I asked to the seller a few hours before the end of auction. The seller replied that there is no fan noise. That’s what he meant!
I can probably resell and still can get a few bucks off of it. keke~
However… with current rate of difficulty increase.. my goal of 1 coin/day is going to be at the edge of cliff… so, I think with this initiation, I will go for 3rd rig… sigh… another $1000+ spending coming up!
MtGox announced today regarding trade option on Litecoin. This led to jump in price of LTC along with BTC. This will be another hype of price on both coins. Time to short in a few days! >=]
Most of us have problem finding 16x PCI-E risers these days. eBay sells them but they are quite over priced. I saw some of them actually sold for over $30.
So, here is one way to get by.
Buy 1x PCI-E risers and trim off one side as shown in picture.
That’s it! ^^d
Make sure you trim off the right direction.
Difference of 1x and 16x is graphic processing capability. For LTC mining purpose, graphic processing is not needed. Therefore, all the extra connections of 16x are not necessary. 1x slot is enough for power and receiving data for LTC calculation.
Happy new year!
